As much as you may love it, it’s easy to get caught up in a workout routine and lose sight of your goals and progress. Whether you’re a die-hard gym rat or a workout novice, it’s time to get the most out of your time in the gym.
Here are some underestimated and often forgotten tips for a better workout:
- Never underestimate the power of a solid warm-up. You might want to dive into your workout right away, but your body will thank you later if you take the time to properly warm up.
- Remember: not every workout will be the workout. We all have off days. It’s okay. Appreciate your good days and learn from the bad. Plus, the bad days make the solid days that much better.
- Commit. Committing to anything takes time, but will help make you a better person in the long run. Make sacrifices and push yourself to maximize your potential.
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Learn what works best for you, but always welcome outside opinions (just be sure to take these opinions and recommendations with a grain of salt — do your research!). Learn the do’s and don’ts from coaches and trainers around you — that’s what they’re there for!
- Try new things. You’ll never know what technique could work for you until you try. Knowing that something doesn’t work for you is just as beneficial. Have an open mind when it comes to your workout.
- Celebrate progress. Forming a new habit isn’t easy, so set goals along the way and celebrate as you achieve them. Even the little things should be celebrated (although we’d like to point out that “celebrate” does not always mean “cheat day”).
- Focus on recovery. Resting between workouts can make a world of difference. Your body needs time to bounce back in order to be stronger and ready for the next workout. Recovery therapies like Cryotherapy and PBMT can help you get the most out of your recovery.
