As you build up your recovery business brand and community, it’s important to make sure you have every angle covered. One vital part of the recovery business game is having a strong social media presence and a well-thought-out strategy.

You may be great at establishing your business and educating your clients, but this could be where it starts getting tricky.

Here are some social media tips that can help you get started:

    1. Decide which platforms make sense for your business. The best way to feel this out is by taking a look at your customers. Are they mostly younger millennials who are primarily on Instagram? Are they middle-aged adults who don’t use Instagram often? Are they professionals who spend most of their time on Twitter or LinkedIn? You don’t need to be everywhere; you just need to be where your audience (and desired audience) is.
    2. Create a posting strategy. You never know when a potential customer will search for your facility on social media, so you want to make sure that whenever they do, they’re met with relevant, up-to-date content. You also want to keep your fans and followers around, so make sure you’re staying in front of them regularly. On the flip side, make sure you don’t bombard your followers with too much content. This will take some testing, but work on finding the right cadence for your posts. Feel out your audience on each platform and make changes as needed.
    3. Ask for content. One of the best tools you can use to get engagement and to create a community around your recovery business is user-generated content. How do you get this? Simply make the ask. Post content asking for fans and followers to share their photos of themselves in your facility and tag your account or use a specific hashtag. Repurpose these photos to show the faces that make up your social media community. People love seeing this type of content!
    4. Post recent, relevant content. There is a lot of content out there about various recovery modalities like cryotherapy, PBM therapy, and compression therapy. But is it all valid, updated, and helpful to your followers? No. The key here is quality over quantity. Share the right content with your fans and you’ll get the right kinds of reactions. Share outdated information and you’ll likely lose your credibility and your followers.
    5. Have fun! Your social media profiles should be informative and fun. Engage with your followers by responding to them, sharing their posts, and answering their questions. Ask your own questions to get a better understanding of who your audience is and what they’re looking for in your facility. And always be personal; people want to engage with humans, not robots. Plus, they’re spending money to recover with other people, so show them that you’re human, too!
